He also acknowledged the role his wife Francheska and their supportive family play in their daughter's life. Shane, 37, took to Instagram on Sunday, October 15 to reflect on how time has changed his perspective, from a time of uncertainty to experiencing immense joy and love.
In April 2020, Kara Keough, sister of Shane, shared devastating news that her newborn son McCoy passed away at only six days old. The cause of his death was linked to shoulder dystocia and a compressed umbilical cord. As a heartfelt tribute to their late nephew, Shane and Francheska decided to name their own baby girl McKay.
Reflecting on the unpredictable nature of the world, Shane expressed gratitude for those who enter our lives and support us. He acknowledged the blessings that emerged from tragedy, resulting in the arrival of their precious baby girl, weighing 6 lbs. 5 oz. Shane emphasized their willingness to go above and beyond for McKay, ready to provide her with a lifetime of love and support. With a warm welcome, he introduced McKay Lourdes Keough to the world, recognizing the first week of her life and looking forward to the countless experiences they will share together.
Shane joyfully revealed this Sunday that he and Francheska recently became proud parents, as their cherished little one entered the world on October 7. Opening up about this precious milestone, the ex-baseball player expressed his gratitude for having Kara, 34, by their side throughout the delivery, and the immense relief he felt upon hearing their newborn's first cry.

In April 2021, Shane took to Instagram to post a poignant tribute in memory of his nephew's tragic passing two years ago. Along with a photo of what McCoy's nursery would have looked like, the athlete expressed his desire for McCoy's life to bring hope and healing to others. Shane hoped that McCoy's impact would leave the world in a better place and that he would be remembered as an answered prayer and a hero. He ended the post by expressing gratitude to McCoy and wishing that angels would guide him.
Kara and her husband Kyle Bosworth are the proud parents of two children, daughter Decker, aged 7, and son Vaughn, aged 2. They welcomed Vaughn into their lives almost a year after the loss of their son McCoy. In July, Kara announced that they are expecting their fourth child, due in November.
Shane and Kara gained fame among Bravo fans as the children of Jeana Keough during seasons 1 to 5 of RHOC. Jeana, who is now 68 years old, was a main cast member until 2012. She made a brief return as a guest from 2015 to 2017 and served as a narrator in 2022.
