Hockey coach Denis Savard shared a story about the time he accidentally interrupted a conversation between Patrick Kane and Taylor Swift after a game. During a broadcast of the Chicago Blackhawks game against the Anaheim Ducks on Friday, December 8, Savard, 62, recalled the incident in Nashville where he had to pull Kane away from the singer after being told that everyone was on the bus. "I leave the locker room, as I walk maybe 50 or 40 yards, and I see Kane talking to two young ladies. And I stop and go, ‘Really?’ Let’s go, now,” Savard said.

Savard mentioned that Kane, 35, expressed a desire to continue talking with the women for a bit longer, but the coach was not accepting it.

"No, no. I'm sorry, ladies, there are team rules for hockey. He needs to be on the bus right now," Savard recalled. "Kane, go immediately."

The NHL veteran coaching the Blackhawks from 2006 to 2009 had a relaxed approach, especially with the younger team, allowing them to "enjoy themselves" with few rules. However, he did have one non-negotiable - all players had to be on the bus before he boarded.

Savard admitted that he was already somewhat irritated with the right wing that evening due to a mistake that allowed the Nashville Predators to score a goal against the Chicago Blackhawks. Kane reluctantly boarded the bus and bid his farewells. The following day, Kane approached his coach to discuss the incident.

"He knocked on the door and said, 'Savy.' I asked, 'What's up?' He said, 'So you know, last night?' He continued, 'That was Taylor Swift,' Savard remembered. "I replied, 'OK. I don't care.'"

Savard confessed that he didn't recognize Swift, 33, at the time, so he called his wife to see if she knew who she was. His wife was familiar with the pop star and informed him that she was an emerging singer at the time.

"And that's how I learned who Taylor Swift was," Savard joked.
