Actress and comedian Kate Micucci was taken aback by a recent health scare. In a TikTok video from her hospital bed, the 43-year-old revealed that she had undergone surgery for lung cancer. Despite never smoking, the cancer was caught early, leaving Micucci surprised but grateful.

Micucci, best known for her role as Lucy on The Big Bang Theory and as one half of the musical duo Garfunkel and Oates with Riki Lindhome, reassured that she's doing well after surgery, largely due to the early detection of cancer. "It's been quite a journey and I'll likely be taking it easy for a while, but then I'll be back in action. I'm looking forward to getting back to painting soon," she added before humorously quipping, "I'm rambling because I'm on medication."

In her post, Micucci shared a photo of herself in bed holding a cereal box and a banana, as well as a video of her walking around the hospital in a gown with her IV drip, expressing excitement about the hospital's artwork. Numerous fans sent their well wishes for her recovery in the comments, with one user writing, "Glad you're okay, be strong and happy," and another saying, "National Treasure Kate Micucci... feel better fast!"

Comedian Tom Green sent his well wishes, saying, “Wishing you a speedy recovery and all the best.” Micucci gratefully replied, “Thanks, Tom! ️.”

Despite a recent health scare, Micucci has not allowed it to dampen her holiday spirits. Before sharing her cancer diagnosis, she presented a sped-up version of her 2018 Christmas song "You Got a Bike."

"Perfect for rocking out at holiday gatherings," she wrote alongside a photo of the song's cover art, which features a childhood picture of her on a bike, on Instagram on December 8. "Also, about this photo... I had braids until I was 14. I was 10 years old in the picture. I asked my mother to take it so I could have a headshot and send it to a talent agent. I lived in a small Pennsylvania town, but I had big dreams ️."
