The final season of the Attack on Titan television anime series introduced the terrifying group known as the Yeagerists, which proved to be a jarring aspect for many viewers. This group of Paradisian citizens adopted protagonist Eren Yeager’s last name and rallied behind his cause for Eldian dominance in the world.
Although Eren did not fully share their beliefs, he reluctantly collaborated with the Yeagerists due to their unwavering loyalty and the immense support they provided. This loyalty led them to abandon their own ideals, as well as friends and family, in order to wholeheartedly support Eren’s cause.
Floch’s loyalty to Eren stems from a key event in Attack on Titan anime’s third season
Floch Forster, one of the most dedicated and formidable members of the group, posed a significant challenge for the Survey Corps due to his unwavering loyalty to Eren. However, following the conclusion of the Attack on Titan anime, fans are now wondering about the reasons behind Floch's intense allegiance to Eren.
Why was Floch so loyal to Eren? Explained
Floch made his debut in the Attack on Titan series during the Return to Shiganshina arc, when the Survey Corps embarked on a mission to explore the Yeager family's basement. While most of Levi Squad ventured into Shiganshina, Levi and the Survey Corps' Commander Erwin Smith led a group of soldiers outside the walls.
As part of this group, Floch and the other soldiers were ordered to march to their deaths against the Beast Titan, in order to create an opportunity for Levi to defeat the creature. Ultimately, Floch was the sole survivor of the attack, along with Levi himself. Although Erwin survived, he sustained grave injuries and was on the brink of death.
Floch then reentered the walls, reuniting with his remaining allies after the successful completion of the mission. In the years leading up to the siege of Liberio in Marley, it became evident that Floch's loyalty to Eren had grown significantly, establishing him as a key member of the Yeagerists.
Floch's unwavering loyalty to Eren in Attack on Titan's final season can be understood by his belief that only Eren could lead the remaining Eldians to victory against the world. Eren's plan to eliminate all life outside of Paradis, including Eldians in other nations, resonated with Floch and the Yeagerists, ultimately leading to his elevated position within the group and strengthened allegiance to Eren.
Floch’s unwavering loyalty to Eren in Attack on Titan’s final season is evident through his actions, even as he is on the brink of death. He goes to great lengths to prevent the Survey Corps from disrupting Eren’s plan. While this may seem excessive at times, Floch’s devotion to Eren is genuine, stemming from his belief that only Eren can ensure the future of the Paradisian people. Editor's P/S
As a hard fan of Attack on Titan, I find Floch's loyalty to Eren to be both fascinating and disturbing. On the one hand, I can understand why Floch would be drawn to Eren's charisma and his promise to protect the Eldian people. Eren is a strong and decisive leader, and he seems to offer a clear path to victory against the Titans. On the other hand, I am deeply troubled by Floch's willingness to sacrifice innocent lives in order to achieve his goals. His blind devotion to Eren leads him to commit atrocities that are simply unforgivable.
Overall, I believe that Floch's loyalty to Eren is a complex and tragic story. It is a story about the power of ideology and the dangers of blind obedience. Floch is a cautionary tale about the importance of critical thinking and the need to question authority.
