Collaboration of Bushiroad Games and Eighting
Hunter X Hunter Nen Impact's developer Eighting has an extensive history within the genre, with the developer specializing in creating licensed fighting games. Previous fighting games the company has developed include the likes of Naruto: Clash of Ninja, co-developing Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and 2022's DNF Duel in collaboration with Arc System Works and Neople. Hunter X Hunter fans were excited to hear that the fighting game developer would be working on Nen X Impact as well, with this excitement bolstered following the first look at the game.
Playable Characters and Gameplay
Shortly after these six characters were revealed, the trailer cuts to briefly show how the game will be structured. Based on this early footage, Hunter X Hunter Nen X Impact is a team-based fighting game, where players battle it out in groups of three. This video demonstrates this by having Gon, Leo, and Netero on one team, while Killua, Kurapika, and Hisoka are on the other. The trailer doesn't show much of the fighting gameplay itself, so it's unclear if it will be a 2D 3v3 team fighting game similar to Dragon Ball FighterZ or Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, or it will be a 3v3 anime arena fighter like Jump Force.
Excitement and Anticipation
Many are hoping that Nen X Impact will go in the former direction rather than the latter, as there are already so many 3D anime arena fighting games. Targeted platforms and a release window were not shown in this first trailer, but fans are still excited to see what Eighting and Bushiroad will deliver with Nen X Impact.
