Final Fantasy XIV: Regalia Mount Guide

Final Fantasy XIV: Regalia Mount Guide

Discover how to obtain the iconic Regalia mount in FF14's Nocturne for Heroes event and ride in style across Eorzea once again.

During the downtime between major patches, the Final Fantasy 14 team hosts crossover events with other titles to keep players engaged. The latest collaboration is with Final Fantasy 15, featuring a mini-story and special rewards. One of the rewards is the Regalia, Noctis' famous black car, which also allows players to fly. To obtain the Regalia, players must first complete the mini-story, which may have some challenges along the way.

This event is a rerun of a previous collaboration, as Final Fantasy 14 often repeats events. If this event returns in the future, the information in this guide will still be accurate.

In order to unlock the ability to accept the quests, the following actions must be taken:

The character must be on a job that is level 50 or higher.

After completing the main story quest "The Ultimate Weapon," you can then proceed to the quest "The Man in Black."

To begin this quest, you can accept it from Kipih Jakkya in Ul'dah, located at Steps of Nald in front of the Immortal Flames grand company area.

How to Finish "The Man in Black"

The initial quest is the simplest of the three. Players are required to finish the FATE known as "Like Clockwork," which is clearly indicated on their maps. This FATE occurs every 5 - 10 minutes, so heading to the designated spot on the map and waiting patiently will result in its appearance. The FATE kicks off with a group of Magitek Troopers that can be easily tackled as a group.

To complete "In the Dark of Night"

After most of the troopers have been defeated, "MA-X" will appear as the boss of the FATE. Despite its size, the giant machine is not too dangerous. MA-X's attacks are easy to predict, and even if a player is hit, it won't cause much harm. Since this is a FATE event, there will likely be many other players present to help and heal. By finishing this battle and experiencing more of the story, you will successfully finish the first quest.

Just like "The Man in Black," there is another required encounter in this quest, but this time it is an instanced battle against "Iseultalon." In this instanced battle, other players cannot help in defeating the creature, but Noctis will be there to assist.

Players may be surprised by the speed and randomness of some attacks during the fight. This may be the first time players come across the "tower" mechanic, which requires them to stand in it to resolve the battle effectively.

After this, like last time, there are a few more story sections, followed by the final quest of the story.

How to Complete "Messenger of the Winds"

This quest, similar to the previous two, involves an encounter with Final Fantasy 15's Garuda. Just like facing Iseultalon, this is a special encounter where you team up with Noctis. During this battle, players are given access to the duty action "Warp-Strike," which allows them to instantly teleport to their target.

Keep in mind that "Warp-Strike" is on the global cooldown, so you can't use it repeatedly in the middle of your attacks. When used in conjunction with Noctis, it inflicts a decent amount of damage on Garuda.

Players should utilize Warp-Strike defensively to evade attacks such as "Mistral Shriek" and then use it again to deal damage once the attack has finished. It is important for players to be mindful when using Warp-Strike to ensure they are targeting the correct enemy to avoid unintended movements towards the boss, which could lead to a premature restart. The boss also has other attacks like "Mini Supercell," which places a stack marker on Noctis, requiring players to stay close to him to mitigate significant damage.

When the boss reaches around 50% health, they will unleash "Microburst." This attack will gradually pull the player towards Garuda until the end of the cast. If the player remains near Garuda when the cast concludes, they will suffer fatal damage. To counter this, players should wait until the end of the cast to dash away, refraining from attacking to prevent Warp-Strike from going on cooldown.

Garuda also has an attack called "Gust Front," which does not require a cast but players need to stand on top of Noctis to handle. The telegraph for this attack is a red triangle pointing down on both characters. Additionally, the boss can cast "Wicked Tornado," which requires players to stay close to the boss to avoid. Another cast to watch out for is "Gravitational Force," which leaves lingering attacks under players after they move, so it's important not to backtrack.

When the boss reaches critical health, it will cast "Mistral Gaol," which locks the player in place. This initiates an "Active Time Maneuver," where players must quickly click the on-screen button or press buttons on their keyboards or controllers.

Getting the Regalia

After Garuda is defeated and a few more quest turn-ins are completed, the story line will be completed. At this point, players will be allowed to purchase some rewards.

At the Gold Saucer, a new Ironworks Vendor has been set up in Entrance Square, close to the daily mini-cactpot vendor. When players interact with the Ironworks vendor, they will find a selection of items available for purchase using MGP. These items include the coveted "Regalia Type-G Title," which is the Regalia mount everyone is talking about, as well as a hairstyle resembling Noctis and a special triple triad card featuring him.

The Regalia, priced at 200,000 MGP, may require players to spend some time in the area to gather enough MGP to acquire their very own Regalia mount.
