During a prisoner transport, a powerful storm forces a detour, leading to the temporary confinement of a group of dangerous criminals in a small Louisiana jail. Unfortunately, the situation takes a terrifying turn when the surrounding swamp area experiences massive flooding, causing water levels to rise dangerously. Trapped inside, a menacing group of enormous alligators enters the building, posing a new threat to both prisoners and guards alike. Now, the inmates and their captors must band together to fight for their survival, facing the added complication of a cop-killing convict (Van Dien). The sheriff (Whelan) and her team find themselves forced to collaborate with the prisoners, as they navigate the treacherous storm.
What to Expect from The Flood
In this exclusive clip from The Flood presented by Screen Rant, the alligators have already infiltrated the prison, heightening the stakes. As one prisoner spots an open door, he raises concern about the possibility of another threat among them, as the source of the door being open remains unclear. With no time to ponder this mystery, a clever and ravenous alligator seizes the opportunity to enter the room through the open door. Tensions escalate, leading one of the guards to consider sacrificing a prisoner in order to secure his own safety. Swiftly, he strikes one of the prisoners, rendering him unconscious, and urgently ascends a makeshift rope. The clip concludes with the alligator drawing nearer as the bewildered prisoner clumsily makes his way towards the rope, desperately hoping to secure his own escape.
In the trailer for The Flood, the employees of a small country jail in rural Louisiana are preparing for a massive storm. However, their plans become complicated when a prisoner caravan, hindered by the storm, arrives and fails to complete its mission of transferring dangerous criminals. As the waters rise and giant alligators descend on the prison, the sheriff and her deputies realize that the prisoners are the least of their problems. The relentless action intensifies as these ravenous creatures discover a new and vulnerable food source.
The Flood is the most recent addition to the exciting lineup of films released by Saban Films in 2023. In January, audiences were treated to the western film The Old Way, starring Nicolas Cage. March brought the release of Supercell, featuring the late Anne Heche. And rounding out an impressive career, Bruce Willis stars in the action thriller Assasin, which was released on March 31.
The Flood will be released in select theaters, On Demand, and on Digital platforms on July 14.
