Three individuals in Florida were arrested by the FBI on Saturday for their involvement in the January 6, 2021, US Capitol attack. Jonathan Daniel Pollock, Olivia Michele Pollock, and Joseph Daniel Hutchinson III, who had been fugitives, were taken into custody and are set to appear in federal court in Ocala, Florida, on Monday.
The arrests coincide with the third anniversary of the Capitol attack, adding to the legal system's challenge of addressing the numerous individuals involved in storming the Capitol in support of former President Donald Trump. Jonathan Pollock and Olivia Pollock's legal representation remains undisclosed, while CNN has requested comment from Hutchinson's attorney.
US Attorney for the District of Columbia, Matthew Graves, informed the media on Thursday that prosecutors have concentrated on individuals who entered the Capitol building or engaged in violent or corrupt conduct on Capitol grounds.
Olivia Pollock, facing federal charges in connection to the Capitol riot last March, failed to appear for trial in Washington, DC. Meanwhile, her brother, Jonathan Pollock, has been on the run since his initial charges in July 2021. The FBI had offered a substantial reward for information leading to his location.
The FBI's "Most Wanted" site still features thousands of images of individuals accused of participating in the attack, with more than 80 people wanted for acts of Capitol violence. Jonathan Pollock has been accused by prosecutors of multiple violent acts against law enforcement during the attack, including punching, kneeing, dragging, charging, grabbing, pinning, and ramming a police shield into an officer's neck.
Hutchinson, Olivia Pollock, and Jonathan Pollock are accused of a coordinated assault on multiple police officers and are facing several charges. Hutchinson and Olivia Pollock have pleaded not guilty, while Jonathan Pollock has not entered a formal plea.
The Justice Department has charged over 1,200 Americans for their alleged involvement in the riot, with more than 890 individuals found guilty of federal crimes. More than half of those found guilty have been sentenced to prison.
