It appears that the Fate/Apocrypha manga, part of the extensive Fate franchise by Type-Moon, will conclude abruptly without any hints about the future of the series or the creators behind the manga adaptation.

The television anime adaptation of Higashide and Type-Moon’s original Apocrypha light novels premiered on Japanese television and Netflix in July 2017. The series aired for 25 episodes and one recap episode, for 26 total installments. The first 12 episodes debuted on Netflix in the United States and Canada with multiple language options in November 2017.

The series debuted on Netflix in all other territories outside of Japan, the United States, and Canada in December of 2017. The second half of the series debuted in the United States in February 2018. The series served as a full adaptation of Higahside’s original light novels, meaning additional seasons and episodes are unlikely to come as of this article’s writing.

The Apocrypha series started off as a short story featured in the Type-Moon Ace magazine in 2011, with illustrations by Konoe also included in this initial version. It later evolved into a four-volume series that concluded in 2014, as previously stated. As of now, there are no indications of any future developments or continuation of the series at the time of writing this article.

Higashide, known for his work on the scripts for various anime such as Tokunana and Special 7: Special Crime Investigation Unit, has also written the Date A Live Fragment: Date a Bullet light novel. This light novel was later adapted into two movies in 2020.

Editor's P/S:

The conclusion of the Fate/Apocrypha manga adaptation without hints of future developments leaves a sense of disappointment for fans who have eagerly followed the series. The abrupt ending raises questions about the fate of the franchise and the creators' intentions. It's particularly concerning that the manga, which was inspired by the popular light novel series, has not been officially translated into English. This limits access to the story for a wider audience.

The Fate/Apocrypha franchise has been a significant part of the Type-Moon universe, expanding on the lore and characters introduced in the Fate/stay night series. The conclusion of the manga adaptation suggests that the story may have reached its end, but it also leaves room for speculation about potential future projects. Fans can only hope that Type-Moon and the creators behind Fate/Apocrypha will provide further clarity and perhaps continue the narrative in some form in the future.
