Jeffrey Dean Morgan is set to join the cast of The Boys Season 4, but fans of Grey's Anatomy still strongly associate him with his character from the show. One of the most eagerly awaited series of 2024 is Amazon Prime Video's The Boys, a dark superhero series.
The series depicts a group of vigilantes in a reality where superheroes exist and are revered as celebrities, influential figures, and even worshipped as deities, despite not always being morally upright. The Boys has had three action-packed seasons since 2019 and a fourth is in the works, featuring guest stars like Jeffrey Dean Morgan. However, some Grey’s Anatomy fans struggle to dissociate him from his character in the series.
Fans connect Morgan with Grey’s Anatomy instead of The Boys
The first trailer for Season 4 of The Boys has been unveiled, providing fans with a glimpse of Morgan in an as-yet-unknown role, which appears to involve a significant connection with the leader of the Boys, Billy Butcher.
After the trailer’s release, the show’s official Twitter teased fans by revealing that they wouldn’t get any more details about Morgan’s character except “he wears a suit and swears like a sailor.”
In response to the tweet, Grey’s Anatomy fans were quick to connect Morgan with his popular series character Denny Duquette, Jr.
Morgan portrayed the character of Denny, who was a heart transplant recipient in Seasons 2 and 3. Unfortunately, he passed away from a stroke shortly after receiving a new heart. Denny played a significant role in the show, particularly through his romance with Izzie Stevens and his appearances as a ghost.
Morgan made another appearance in Grey's Anatomy in Season 5, as a ghost when Izzie was battling cancer. He is also recognized for his role as Negan, the brutal and cruel leader of the Saviors, in The Walking Dead.
The Boys Seasons 1-3 is currently available to watch on Amazon Prime. Read more of our The Boys content here.

As a Gen Z netizen, I am excited to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan in his new role on The Boys. I have been a fan of his work since his days on Grey's Anatomy, and I am eager to see what he brings to this new role. I think it will be interesting to see him play a character that is so different from Denny Duquette, Jr.
I can understand why some fans might struggle to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan in a new role, especially one that is so different from his previous work. However, I think it is important to remember that actors are capable of playing a wide range of roles, and we should not limit them to one type of character. I am confident that Morgan will be able to bring something new and exciting to the role, and I am looking forward to seeing what he does with it.
