Extended Microsoft Surface PC Support: Longer Updates on the Horizon

For instance, the Surface Laptop Go 3, introduced earlier this year, will be fully supported until 2029, and may even continue to receive Windows updates beyond that timeframe.

The availability of Windows updates is currently in a somewhat uncertain state. Previously, you could easily install the latest version of Windows on any older computer as long as it had sufficient power and compatible drivers. However, with the introduction of Windows 11, certain hardware requirements such as TPM 2.0 were imposed, rendering many PCs ineligible for the official update (although workarounds exist).
