Tim Ballard, the man who inspired Sound of Freedom, has reportedly faced allegations of sexual misconduct and a subsequent investigation. Directed by Alejandro Monteverde, the Angel Studios film loosely portrays these real-life events, following Ballard's transformation from a government agent to a vigilante on a mission to dismantle a child trafficking ring. In 2013, Ballard established Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.), an organization dedicated to fighting child trafficking, with actor Jim Caviezel controversially portraying him in the movie.
According to a recent Vice report, Ballard was the subject of a sexual misconduct investigation earlier this year. In June, Ballard and O.U.R. parted ways, and the report discloses that his departure followed allegations of sexual misconduct from seven women, as well as a subsequent investigation. O.U.R. stated to Vice that they are committed to combating sexual abuse and do not tolerate any form of sexual harassment or discrimination within their organization. However, the outcome of the investigation has not been disclosed by the organization.
