Lukashenko voiced concerns about the provision of long-range missiles, including some capable of flying up to 300 km (186 miles), to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelensky and his army.
Lukashenko stated that in the event of a missile striking Russian land, Moscow would be compelled to retaliate.
"The repercussions of such an assault on Russian territory would be immense. After all, why possess these (nuclear) weapons if not for this very purpose?" Lukashenko questioned.
He expressed concerns about the escalation of tensions between nations potentially resulting in a scenario where Russia "would bring forth the red button and place it on the table." Furthermore, he noted that Americans felt secure as they were geographically distant from such threats.

Regarding the uncertain future of US Congress aid for Ukraine, Lukashenko expressed his view that it serves as a signal for Ukraine to accelerate, broaden the scope of their counteroffensive, and deploy more young men to the region.
It is pervasive in the media at present, with Zelensky being held responsible for the sluggishness of the counteroffensive, which ultimately proved to be unsuccessful," Lukashenko stated, asserting that "only elderly individuals are actively participating in the conflict."
Lukashenko presented his interpretation of why the US is urging Ukraine to accelerate the counteroffensive, suggesting that US President Joe Biden could leverage a Ukrainian triumph on the battlefield to enhance his popularity.
Lukashenko said that due to the current political situation, this war does not enhance Biden's and the American government's credibility. With his declining popularity in all the polls, Biden is in need of a triumph of some sort. To secure a win, he must offer something substantial.
