An Overwatch anime series has become a popular discussion among the community, with players urging Blizzard to turn its storyline into a Netflix show. Finally, the developers have addressed this request by acknowledging the ongoing progress of the Overwatch 2 story within the game, through the introduction of PvE missions. Furthermore, Blizzard has employed various methods to further expand the universe of Overwatch.

The Overwatch developers not only released short stories, novels, comics, and animated shorts but also introduced a mini-series on YouTube as a prelude to the Invasion PvE content in Season 6. However, fans have been expressing their desire for additional content.
