Many celebrity homes often appear uninviting, with some looking too pristine or overly extravagant. However, Emma Roberts' Hollywood Hills residence offers a cozy atmosphere perfect for relaxing with a good book. Each room is decorated with warm tones, comfortable couches, and interesting antique items, making it a welcoming space to unwind. Additionally, there is a lagoon-style pool in the backyard, ideal for enjoying a summer read.

Emma Roberts, known for her roles in romantic comedies and horror films, including recurring appearances in "American Horror Story," purchased the house in 2022. She shares the home with her three-year-old son, Rhodes. To revamp the interiors, Roberts enlisted the design firm Pierce & Ward. In the May edition of Architectural Digest, she showcases the stunning results of the renovation.

Roberts shared that creating a space that feels like home is a top priority for her. Growing up, she moved frequently, living in 10 different houses by the age of 15. When she came across a property listed for rent on Instagram (reportedly a former residence of Minnie Driver), she decided to inquire about purchasing it instead.

She expressed to AD, "For me now, having a son, I wanted a place that felt really ours." Roberts vividly remembers the day they moved in, feeling a sense of belonging and contentment. "I just remember feeling like we are exactly where we need to be."

Louisa Pierce and Emily Ward, designers who have worked with Michael P.H. Clifford/AD before, are famous for creating cozy spaces that blend bohemian, mid-century modern, and rustic elements. Their clientele includes Dakota Johnson, Kate Hudson, and Leonardo DiCaprio, who also happen to be co-stars with Roberts in "Madame Web".

“We want a house to look like it’s been there for 50 years,” Pierce told AD in the cover story. “We never want a home to look new.”

While most of the pieces in Roberts' home are antique or designer, her open kitchen includes an affordable surprise.

In keeping with this approach, many of Roberts' furniture, art, and decor pieces have been repurposed or reupholstered. In the living room, paperbacks are stored in living room cabinets under a disco ball-like globe light, while rarer books are proudly displayed. Framed photographs of Debbie Harry and Joni Mitchell can be seen resting on wooden cabinets. Additionally, one of Roberts' most cherished artworks, a Julian Wasser portrait of Joan Didion posing in front of a Corvette, adorns the wall.

Though most of their pieces come from design studios or antique shops, Pierce and Ward appreciate more affordable brands as well. Roberts shared a funny story about how they laughed when she asked if her kitchen island was custom-made, revealing that it was actually from Urban Outfitters.
