The D’Amelio family started on social media, but Charli, Dixie, Heidi, and Marc D’Amelio have built a fashion empire, including D’Amelio Footwear. They launched their footwear line in May 2023 and have continued to grow the brand with new collections and pop-up shops. According to Dixie, stepping "outside the box a little bit" has been the most important lesson they've learned on this journey.
Dixie, 22, shared with us exclusively at the Shopify x D’Amelio Pop-up on Friday, March 8 that they are not just creating shoes for themselves.
She mentioned, "From the very beginning, we all have a bit of perfectionism in us and we love the simplicity of black and white. But this collection is different as it includes a lot of colors and unique designs. Initially, we thought of sticking to basics because we thought that's what people want. However, exploring more fun and creativity in our designs has made the journey much more exciting."
Heidi, who is 52 years old, nodded in agreement with her eldest daughter Charli, who is 19. Charli mentioned that “statements and staples” has become the unofficial motto of the brand when it comes to introducing new styles.
Heidi shared with Us that the brand's newest collection has "a little bit of everything." She described it as a very fun collection, especially highlighting the vibrant colors used.

Charli expressed her thoughts on the development of D’Amelio footwear, stating that along with the brand's growth, they are also evolving their personal styles. She mentioned how her fashion taste has changed over time, reflecting on how she used to only wear high heels but now embraces kitten heels and flats.
Marc emphasized the importance of their family in the business, highlighting that they have built a strong team that goes beyond just the four of them. He acknowledged the significant contributions of the three women in his family, emphasizing the valuable role they play in the operation.
Charli expressed her admiration for her dad, noting that he puts in a lot of time and effort into their projects. She mentioned how he is always there to protect and support them, which makes her feel honored to have him by their side.
Thanks to the support from their wider team, the D’Amelio family was able to launch D’Amelio Footwear. They even had the opportunity to set up pop-up shops, such as the Shopify x D’Amelio Pop-up in New York City from March 8 to March 10.
Charli expressed gratitude to Shopify for providing the space for the event, stating that it wouldn't have been possible without their support.
Fans not only had the opportunity to see and try on the shoes in person but also interact with the family, design a personalized floral arrangement, and participate in an International Women's Day panel hosted by Heidi.
