Funko is bringing the quirky characters of Star Trek: Lower Decks to life with their latest addition to the Pop! collection. The first wave of Lower Decks Funkos showcases the courageous crew of the USS Cerritos, including Brad Boimler, Beckett Mariner, D'vana Tendi, and Sam Rutherford, each portrayed in Funko's signature square-headed style.
Adding to this collection is Badgey, an artificially-intelligent Starfleet badge with a dark desire for patricide. This release joins a growing line of Lower Decks merchandise, which includes a new assortment of shirts from Titmouse, the show's animation studio, and a series of vinyl figures created by Mondo.
So who are the lower deckers? Bradward "Brad" Boimler (Jack Quaid), a neurotic perfectionist from a raisin-farming family on Earth, constantly sabotages his own efforts in a desperate attempt to prove himself. Beckett Mariner (Tawny Newsome), the captain's daughter aboard the Cerritos, has a notorious record of insubordination that has resulted in multiple demotions and reassignments. D'vana Tendi (Noël Wells), an Orion known for their involvement in space piracy, defies expectations with her relentlessly cheerful attitude. Sam Rutherford (Eugene Cordero), an engineer with a cyborg implant, discovers in the show's third season that he has been suppressing his original, more hardened personality and memories due to a secret plot by one of Starfleet's shady admirals. Badgey (Jack McBrayer), a tutorial program created by Rutherford, unexpectedly becomes homicidal. However, in the current season, he peacefully ascends to a higher plane of existence in his pursuit of ultimate power.
