Star Tours – The Adventures Continue at Disney Parks is getting a major update with new adventures and characters that are larger than ever. Originally replacing the old Star Tours attraction, this new version served as a prequel to the Star Wars trilogies. It has since added adventures from the sequel trilogy, and now even more are being introduced. The exciting details of this update were revealed at Star Wars Celebration 2023.

Visitors can look forward to experiencing moments like dodging through a group of purrgil space whales to escape enemy fire, and traveling to Peridea - a planet in another galaxy. The update will launch on April 5 at Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, and Disneyland Paris. Various stills have been shared by Disney and StarWars.com.

This marks a significant milestone as content from the Disney+ Star Wars TV shows is being added to the classic attraction for the first time. Additionally, it will be the first time Star Tours – The Adventures Continue takes guests to a different galaxy, including Peridea. In the show Ahsoka, Peridea is where Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger were stranded after the events of Star Wars Rebels. Now, Ahsoka and Sabine Wren are also trapped there at the end of season 1, potentially offering a shared experience for visitors of Star Tours – The Adventures Continue.
Venturing beyond the familiar Star Wars galaxy in this way showcases the franchise's willingness to explore new territories, especially with the release of upcoming Star Wars movies.
This, however, marks a significant milestone for the franchise. By boldly venturing beyond the familiar Star Wars galaxy, it demonstrates the vast potential the franchise is willing to explore in the future. This is especially evident with the upcoming Star Wars projects like The Mandalorian & Grogu movie and Dave Filoni's untitled project. Star Wars is gearing up for its most significant update to the attraction and possibly its most substantial leap forward in the Star Wars universe, regardless of whether these adventures are considered canon or not.
