Newly released images from the third and last Doctor Who 60th anniversary special, titled "The Giggle," have just come to light on the internet.
The trilogy of Doctor Who 60th anniversary specials began on November 25 with "The Star Beast." This extended episode introduced David Tennant's Fourteenth Doctor and reunited him with former companion Donna Noble (Catherine Tate).
The "The Star Beast" received positive reviews, with most critics praising its role in establishing the trilogy's foundation. The sequel, "Wild Blue Yonder," also impressed professional pundits. However, some reviews were critical of its failure to deliver the groundbreaking story promised in pre-release coverage.
Now, all attention is on "The Giggle," particularly as it marks Ncuti Gatwa's debut as the leading man in Doctor Who.
Doctor Who drops new look at final 60th anniversary special
That said, Gatwa is absent from the four Doctor Who images the BBC recently shared on X to promote the release of “The Giggle.”

Two of the images feature the Fourteenth Doctor and Donna. In the first, they are seen standing in a vintage hallway with a hidden skull motif in the wallpaper. The second image shows the pair in the alleyway from the end of "Wild Blue Yonder."
The other two stills highlight different characters: John Logie Baird (John MacKay) and the Toymaker (Neil Patrick Harris).
Baird, an actual engineer credited with inventing the TV, is seen holding the head of a ventriloquist’s dummy in a picture. Another dummy with a strikingly similar head is also shown with the Toymaker, suggesting a possible connection to Baird. This poses a significant problem for the Doctor and Donna, as the Toymaker is one of the longest-standing adversaries in the franchise.
Fans get their first look at the Fifteenth Doctor’s Christmas adventure
The BBC has released four new photos from “The Giggle,” marking the second round of stills to be made public in less than a week. Just days earlier, the broadcaster offered a preview of Gatwa’s upcoming Christmas special, “The Church on Ruby Road,” along with a summary of the holiday-themed tale.
The synopsis partially states: "[The Church on Ruby Road] involves the Doctor encountering the legendary and enigmatic goblins as he crosses paths with Ruby Sunday, portrayed by Millie Gibson."

As a Gen Z netizen, I'm thrilled about the upcoming Doctor Who 60th-anniversary finale, "The Giggle." The exclusive sneak peek images have only heightened my anticipation for this epic conclusion to the trilogy of specials. Seeing the Fourteenth Doctor and Donna together again is nostalgic and exciting, and I can't wait to see how their adventure unfolds in the vintage hallway and the alleyway.
However, I'm also intrigued by the introduction of new characters like John Logie Baird and the Toymaker. The potential connection between Baird and the Toymaker adds an element of mystery and danger to the story. It's exciting to see the Doctor and Donna facing off against one of the franchise's longest-standing adversaries. Overall, these exclusive stills have only fueled my excitement for "The Giggle" and the future of Doctor Who with Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor.
