While the Cosmic Fury Power Rangers have been superheroes since the first season of Dino Fury, their level of experience pales in comparison to Billy's. With Lord Zedd, one of the original villains from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, posing a threat, Billy's assistance in Cosmic Fury becomes even more vital.

Billy will not just be the "guy in the chair" in Power Rangers Cosmic Fury. He will also morph into the original Blue Ranger and join the action. Comparatively, Tommy leading the Zeo or Turbo Rangers differed from his role in mentoring a team of strangers in Dino Thunder. It is rare for a classic Power Rangers character to have an extended role in a new Power Rangers series, making Billy's presence in Cosmic Fury even more thrilling.

It is a wise decision to include the original Blue Ranger, as this may be the final Power Rangers season to adapt a Super Sentai.
