Kate Mulgrew, who portrays Vice Admiral Kathryn Janeway on Star Trek: Prodigy, has shared her thoughts on the cancellation of the animated series by Paramount+. In response to the news that Paramount+ has axed multiple shows, including Prodigy, the streaming platform removed all 20 episodes of season 1 on Monday, June 26, 2023. Furthermore, Bruce Horak, an actor from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, also expressed his thoughts on the conclusion of Star Trek: Prodigy on Paramount+.

Taking to Twitter, Kate Mulgrew made her initial public statement regarding the cancellation of Star Trek: Prodigy. The recent deletion of the 20 episodes of season 1 of Star Trek: Prodigy by Paramount+ has left fans feeling disappointed. The cancellation of the animated series has spurred a Change.org petition, which has gained more than 17,000 signatures. Devoted Star Trek enthusiasts are actively searching for alternative options to save the show and secure a new streaming platform for Prodigy. Fortunately, the production of season 2's 20 episodes is still underway, with the intention of finding a new distributor to stream both seasons of Prodigy.

Additional Star Trek: Prodigy cast members, including Rylee Alazraqui and Bonnie Gordon, have expressed their disappointment on Twitter regarding Paramount+'s decision to cancel the show. However, the encouraging message from Kate Mulgrew stating that "We have still only just begun" is exactly what fans need to gather strength and persevere in the campaign to #SaveStarTrekProdigy.
