The Fire Country cast is thrilled to begin filming season 3 and they are already envisioning their ideal storylines.
In a special interview with We at the CBS Fall Schedule Celebration, Billy Burke, Jordan Calloway, and Jules Latimer discussed the direction they hope their characters will take in the next season.
Burke, 57, who portrays Vince, jokingly mentioned his desire to see the group gathered at the firehouse, possibly playing charades. He added, "There has been a lot of discussion about it. We are going to explore and observe how these individuals interact when there are no emergencies to respond to."
On the other hand, Latimer, 30, shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming episodes and the opportunity for character development. He stated, "In the third season, we will delve deeper into the characters and their personal growth outside of their work. This is something that Billy is eager to explore!"
Bode, played by Max Thieriot, is the main character in the CBS series. He seizes an opportunity to reduce his time in prison by joining the California Conservation Camp Program. Assigned to his hometown, Bode reunites with his family, old pals, and strives to turn over a new leaf.

When season 2 started in February, Bode found himself back in prison for a crime he didn't commit. Jake (Calloway) stepped up as the new Cal Fire captain, and Eve (Latimer) is now in charge at Three Rock.
Eve has a lot going on, but Latimer has even more plot ideas in mind for her.
"I want Eve to have a bit more money and maybe a love interest," Latimer shared with Us. "Perhaps she could go on a few dates. Even though Eve is in charge and tells the men what to do on the show, she deserves to have a romantic interest too."
Calloway expresses his desire to have more scenes with Latimer on screen. He wants to be able to look out for her and guide her in knowing right from wrong. At the same time, he also aspires to work alongside the Division Chief.
Burke had a new idea to share, suggesting, “I think Vince should have a midlife crisis.”
Viewers of Fire Country know that Burke always has strong opinions about the show. Before season 2 started, Burke gave his thoughts on the challenges in Vince and Sharon’s (played by Diane Farr) marriage, especially when Bode was sent back to prison.
"I believe that regardless of the ups and downs between Vince and Sharon, people will continue to support their relationship," he shared with Us, emphasizing the couple's "idealistic" bond. "We aim to make their story more relatable to those in similar situations, where there is a deep sense of responsibility towards each other and those around them. This is the dynamic that resonates with viewers."
Burke also hinted at the future of the couple, saying, "As for what lies ahead, I honestly have no idea. I'm just enjoying the journey along with everyone else."
Fire Country airs on CBS Fridays at 9 p.m. ET.
