Kristen Lepore: We had a pretty good idea early on because, when we pitched the episodes, we created loglines for 30 different episodes. The executives then selected the ones they liked best, which led us to our final five.

The episode you mentioned is one of the ones they chose. They were essentially giving us permission to pursue it because they knew he would be able to be involved. It was really exciting from a writing perspective because we were able to come up with some absurd and entertaining content for our special guest cameo.
