Harry Potter director David Yates was recently asked if he will be involved in the announced TV remake. While Yates expressed his appreciation for his time working on the franchise, he made it clear that he will not be returning for the new adaptation.
Honestly, I can't bring myself to get involved. My time at that school was unforgettable and I hold it dear, but I feel like I've moved on. Right now, I find the idea of being in the back of a van with [producer] Lawrence [Grey], in Atlanta or Savannah, trying to create a compelling drama more enticing than returning to Hogwarts.
I genuinely hope the show thrives and I'm excited to see it explore new possibilities for the next generation. It will undoubtedly present challenges for everyone involved, but it's a thrilling endeavor and I extend my well wishes. It was an incredible experience for me and I know it will be for the upcoming generation of filmmakers as well.
More to come...
