Military officials are currently conducting a search for an F-35 fighter jet in the vicinity of Charleston, South Carolina. Following a "mishap" involving the jet, the pilot successfully ejected on Sunday afternoon. Joint Base Charleston reported that the pilot was taken to a nearby medical facility and is currently in stable condition.

Emergency response teams are currently engaged in locating the F-35B Lightning II jet. Joint Base Charleston has sought assistance from the public in locating the aircraft, whose last known location was in the vicinity of Lake Moultrie and Lake Marion, two significant bodies of water situated northwest of Charleston.
