In September 2023, Xbox Game Pass members will have the opportunity to play Madden NFL 24 and two additional titles for free during the second extended weekend. This exclusive offer is part of Microsoft's Free Play Days program, which regularly offers complimentary games to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Live Gold members.
Starting today until September 10 at 11:59 p.m. PDT, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Live Gold members can enjoy playing Control, Crime Boss: Rockay City, and Madden NFL 24 for free. This is the last opportunity for Xbox Live Gold subscribers to participate in this promotion, as the service will be replaced by Xbox Game Pass Core next Thursday. Unlike the previous monthly selection of free games, Xbox Game Pass Core will provide access to a limited number of Game Pass titles, while still offering online play and Free Play Days.

Crime Boss: Rockay City
This week's Free Play Days lineup features Control, an action adventure game released by Remedy Entertainment in 2019, which received widespread critical acclaim and fan adoration. The other two titles in the lineup are both from 2023: Madden NFL 24, which hit the market just three weeks ago, and Crime Boss: Rockay City, which debuted on PC in March before being released on current-generation consoles three months later. While Crime Boss: Rockay City may be the least well-known of the three free games, it boasts the most star-studded cast, with Ingame Studios sparing no expense in hiring a wide variety of celebrities for the game.
The latest installment of Free Play Days may not receive the usual level of attention from Microsoft's subscribers due to the recent addition of Starfield to Xbox Game Pass. This highly anticipated game is likely to keep many members occupied in the coming days.
As is customary, the newest Free Play Days lineup is discounted during the promotion. Control and Crime Boss: Rockay City are available for just $7.49 and $27.99, respectively. Additionally, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Live Gold subscribers can currently purchase the cross-gen NFL+ Edition of Madden NFL 24 for $89.99, a 20% reduction from its regular price.
