The inaugural season of My Happy Marriage revolved around Miyo Saimori's transformation from a mere Saimori household daughter to her entanglement with Kiyoka Kudo, and the subsequent challenges she confronted.
Miyo's life had been plagued by adversity ever since her mother's demise. Specifically, the absence of any supernatural powers subjected her to neglect and mistreatment from her father, stepmother, and stepsister. Consequently, her self-esteem dwindled to an all-time low. Eventually, she was ousted from her household upon receipt of a marriage proposal from the Kudo family to the Saimori residence.
Upon entering the Kudo residence, Miyo found a warm embrace of love and acceptance from her fiancé, Kiyoka, his sister Hazuki, and the devoted elderly servant, Yurie. Additionally, she reunited with her maternal family, the Usubas, who played a vital role in helping her awaken her latent supernatural powers.
Harnessing her newfound skill known as Dream-Sight, Miyo fearlessly rescued Kiyoka from the clutches of death. He had fallen unconscious during a vicious assault orchestrated by the Emperor through his terrifying minions known as Grotesqueries.

Initially, Kiyoka's father had sent a marriage proposal to the Saimoris, possibly with the purpose of arranging a marriage between Kaya and himself. When Miyo expressed her worries about the Saimoris not accepting her, Kiyoka playfully commented that he would completely destroy them.
However, in the next season, Miyo will finally meet Kiyoka's parents, and she will encounter several challenges when they refuse to accept her.
