Exciting News: Digimon 02 Reboot Movie Finally Unveils Official US Release Date!

Fathom Events, the North American distributor, has partnered with Toei Animation, the Japanese production company, to bring the new Digimon anime movie, Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning, to theaters in the United States.

Starting on November 8 and 9, 2023, the movie will be shown in 750 participating theaters across the country at 7:00 pm local time. Fathom Events has also provided a synopsis of the movie.

In 2012, a decade has passed since the Digital World adventure. Daisuke Motomiya is now twenty and, along with the other DigiDestined, they are gradually undergoing changes in their appearance and lifestyle. One day, a massive Digitama unexpectedly appears in the sky above Tokyo Tower. Daisuke and the group come across a mysterious young man named Lui Ohwada, who reveals himself to be the world's first DigiDestined.

Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning was initially released in Japan in early October of 2023. This film serves as a direct follow-up to the 2020 reboot movie, Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna, and a more distanced sequel to the original Digimon Adventure 02 anime series.

The New Digimon Reboot Movie Is Coming To US Theaters In English And Japanese

The special screenings of Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning will be held on November 8 and 9, offering both English and Japanese versions. The November 8 screenings will showcase the new movie with an English dub, while the November 9 screenings will feature the original Japanese version with English subtitles. Moreover, director Tomohisa Taguchi will provide an introduction to the new movie during these screenings.

As an added bonus, the first 50 attendees will receive a complimentary pack of Digimon Card Game Tamer Party Pack -THE BEGINNING- ver. 2.0 themed tie-in cards on a first come, first served basis.
