Kadokawa announced the January 2024 release date for season 2 of Banished from the Heroes’ Party in a recent character video. The video focuses on the series' central protagonist, Red, also known as Gideon Ragnason. With this release date, all major information about the upcoming anime has been revealed, including international streaming details, new cast and staff for the second season, and more.

Banished from the Heroes’ Party season 2 continues the story from the first season of the anime series, which aired in Japan during Fall 2021. Originally scheduled to premiere in July, the production team delayed it to October citing "various circumstances."

The second season of Banished from the Heroes’ Party is scheduled to premiere in Japan and internationally on Crunchyroll on Sunday, January 7, 2023. Crunchyroll will stream the series weekly in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, the CIS, and India as it airs in Japan.

The new cast for the second season will include Yumiri Hanamori as Van, Ai Kakuma as Lavender, Satoshi Mikami as Cardinal Lub, and Aya Uchida as Esther, alongside the returning and starring cast of Ryota Suzuki as Red, Kanon Takao as Rit, Naomi Ozora as Ruti, Sora Amamiya as Yarandrala, Taku Yashiro as Ares, Nao Toyama as Megria, and Kentaro Tone as Dir.

The series' director, Satoshi Takafuji, has taken over as the chief director for the new season, with Makoto Hoshino now credited as the director. Animation production is now solely handled by Studio Flad, following their collaboration with Wolfsbane in the first season. Alongside Tsukasa Ohira, Yukiko Ashino is newly credited for art setting and is also returning as the art director for the series.

Norimasa Teramoto will take over as the director of photography from Kenji Takehara, while Takatoshi Hamano will replace Nobuyuki Abe as the sound director. Magic Capsule will now be in charge of sound production, in place of On-lead, with the remaining main staff from the anime's first season returning for the second.

The original light novel series by author Zappon and illustrator Yausmo premiered in June 2018 and was adapted from Zappon's original Shosetsuka ni Naro web novel, which was first released in October 2017. Illustrator Masahiro Ikeno launched a manga adaptation in May 2018. All three formats are still ongoing, and the franchise has over 2.2 million copies in circulation, including digital editions.
