Exciting Lineup Announced: Erin Cuthbert Returns as New Faces Join Scotland Women for Netherlands Nations League Clash

Despite having previously played for England, Manchester City goalkeeper Sandy MacIver has been called up by Scotland for their Nations League matches against the Netherlands. MacIver, 25, is eligible to represent Scotland through her mother and has previously represented England at various levels, including the senior Lionesses squad.

Sarina Wiegman's side had only given her one opportunity to feature in a friendly against Northern Ireland in 2021. However, she has now shifted her allegiance to Scotland. Celtic's Jenny Smith has received her first call-up from head coach Pedro Martinez Losa, while Amy Gallacher from the same club and Kirsty Howat from Rangers have retained their spots following their recent debuts.

Sophie Howard's last-minute header secured Scotland's first point in the group against Belgium. Scotland will be heading to the Netherlands on October 27 for their upcoming match, followed by the return fixture against Belgium in Group A at Hampden Park on October 31.

Martinez Losa's team currently occupies the last position in their group after two matches, but they are only three points behind the leading team, Belgium, who will be playing against England.

In their Nations League debut, Scotland suffered a narrow defeat against England. However, they managed to secure a valuable point at home against Belgium, thanks to an incredible header by Sophie Howard in the dying moments of the match.
