Exciting Insider Leak Hints at Epic Surprises for Zelda Franchise in 2023!

Exciting news for Zelda fans! Industry insider hints at a surprise announcement in 2023, indicating that the beloved franchise is not slowing down anytime soon Stay tuned for thrilling updates beyond Tears of the Kingdom

Legend of Zelda fans have reason to be excited, as industry insider Jeff Grubb has revealed that an unrelated project within the franchise is set to take place later this year. With The Legend of Zelda being one of Nintendo's biggest franchises, the company is always working on something new behind the scenes.

Despite the success of the recently released Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which has been both critically acclaimed and a commercial hit, there are now rumors circulating about a separate Zelda series announcement coming later this year, completely independent of Tears of the Kingdom.

According to industry insider Jeff Grubb, who was speaking on The Last of the Nintendogs podcast, there may be a release of the Metroid Prime 2 remaster in the near future. Additionally, Grubb mentioned that there is something Zelda-related happening this year that is not related to Tears of the Kingdom. When asked if this meant the long-rumored Switch ports of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, Grubb clarified that he wasn't sure. It is important to note that Nintendo's plans are subject to change, so fans should keep that in mind.

There have been rumors circulating for years about Switch ports of Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD, especially as Nintendo has been bringing many Wii U exclusive games to its newest console. Nintendo has also shown a tendency to revive popular GameCube games on the Switch, as seen with the Metroid Prime remasters, recent shadow drops of Pikmin 1 and 2, and other examples. Therefore, it would make sense for Twilight Princess and Wind Waker to come to the Switch. While Grubb doesn't have information on whether the Zelda-related event later this year is related to the rumored Switch ports, they remain the most likely explanation.

Grubb mentioned in the podcast that Nintendo is likely to hold a Nintendo Direct event in September, coinciding with the Nintendo Live event in Seattle from September 1-4. It is possible that this Zelda-related announcement may take place during the September Nintendo Direct. However, this is only speculation at this point, and Zelda fans should manage their expectations accordingly.

Meanwhile, some Zelda fans may have hopes for more Tears of the Kingdom content. There are those who believe that Tears of the Kingdom DLC could be released since Nintendo had previously released DLC for Breath of the Wild. However, it is important to note that no official announcement has been made regarding this matter as of now.
