The NCIS universe is gearing up to celebrate its 1,000th episode next month. And guess what? Some of our favorite franchise stars will be joining in for this special crossover event.
One of those familiar faces is Daniela Ruah, known for her role as Special Agent Kensi Blye-Deeks on NCIS: Los Angeles. She is set to make an appearance in the episode airing on Monday, April 15. Just in case you were wondering, this is confirmed news.
NCIS: Hawai’i lead Vanessa Lachey, who plays Special Agent in Charge Jane Tennant since 2021, will be part of the crossover. However, neither actress will appear "in person," according to TVLine, the first to report the news.
Ruah, who starred on NCIS: L.A. for 14 seasons until the series ended in 2023, has been working as a director. She directed a March episode of NCIS and will also direct the NCIS: Hawai’i’s April 15 episode titled “The Next Thousand,” which will be the franchise’s 1,001st episode.
Ruah was reunited with her former L.A. costar LL Cool J on the Hawai’i cast during season 2, which aired last year. LL Cool J joined as a recurring character and reprised his role as Special Agent Sam Hanna in two 2023 episodes. He has also appeared in four episodes so far in season 3, which premiered in February.

When it's time for the 1,000th franchise episode, viewers can look forward to seeing a new face on NCIS. Leon Vance's son, Jared, will be making an appearance. In the past, Jared was portrayed by Khamani Griffin in season 6 and Akinsola Aribo in seasons 9 to 11.
Spence Moore II will be playing the role of the young man in this upcoming project.
According to coshowrunner Steven D. Binder, there will be a personal storyline in this crossover, focusing on Director Vance.

He teased, “We’re going to play plenty of homage to the past,” while Binder revealed there will be “some Easter eggs for longtime fans of the show.”
CBS has recently announced two more series joining the NCIS franchise, with the historical episode potentially being the first of many.
One of the upcoming series, NCIS: Origins, will be a prequel focused on a Young Leroy Jethro Gibbs, originally portrayed by Mark Harmon on NCIS. The show is set to premiere during the 2024-2025 broadcast season.
Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo, known for their roles as Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David on NCIS, are set to reunite for a new spinoff series. Paramount+ recently announced that the show will focus on the couple as they navigate parenthood while raising their daughter, Tali.
Fans can catch NCIS on CBS every Monday at 9 p.m. ET, followed by NCIS: Hawai’i at 10 p.m. ET.
