On Wednesday, February 28, 2023, the official staff for the Korean Parasyte live-action series, titled Parasyte: The Grey, revealed that it is set to debut on Netflix on April 5, 2024. A new key visual featuring the main character was also released alongside this announcement.
The upcoming Parasyte live-action series is an adaptation of Hitoshi Iwaaki's popular Japanese manga series of the same name. Originally serialized in Kodansha's Afternoon magazine from 1990 to 1995, Hitoshi-san created a compelling story that has captivated audiences worldwide.

Interestingly, the manga also has a TV anime adaptation which premiered in 2014, and two live-action movies, released in 2014 and 2015. The upcoming series will star several renowned Korean actors and feature a new story.

The Korean Parasyte live-action series will release new episodes weekly until June 2024 as per the announcement. Any unforeseen delays or modifications to the initial schedule will be communicated by the staff.
In addition to the premiere date, a fresh visual for the live-action series has been revealed. The visual depicts an unidentified parasite taking over the body of the main character, Jeong Su-in (portrayed by Jeon So-Nee), and altering its form.

Other characters besides the main heroine, Jeong Su-in, can be observed in the background. These characters are also shown to be affected by the menacing parasites. The visual includes a translated catchphrase that reads:
"It's next to you."

Jeon So-nee plays the role of Jeong Su-in, who forms an unusual co-existence with a parasite after it fails to enter her brain. Koo Kyo-hwan portrays Seol Kang-woo, a character who pursues parasites in order to find his missing younger sister.
Lee Jung-hyun stars as the head of The Grey, a group formed to eradicate the alien creatures after her husband's tragic death at their hands.
In addition, Kwon Hae-hyo and Kim In-kwon have been included in the cast for the series on Netflix, although their characters have not been disclosed.

Notably, the live-action project is being directed by Yeon Sang-ho, known for his critical acclaim in directing hit films like Train to Busan and Peninsula. In addition to directing, Yeon Sang-ho is also collaborating with Ryu Yong-jae on the project's scripts.
Hitoshi Iwaaki's original manga, upon which the upcoming series is based, is situated in a universe where alien creatures known as Parasites have infiltrated the Earth with the intention of seizing control of humans by infiltrating their brains through their bodily openings.
Nevertheless, a singular Parasite named Migi successfully seizes control of only the right arm of high school student Shinichi Izumi. Consequently, Shinichi and Migi form a peculiar symbiotic relationship, as they engage in battles against other Parasites whose sole purpose is the annihilation of the human race.
