The A Sign of Affection anime series released its debut promotional video on October 20, 2023. Along with the video, the official website announced three new cast members, bringing the total revealed cast members to five. The 75-second video primarily features Yuki Itose and Yu Miyazaki, the main characters of the series, but also introduces their friends, who are portrayed by the two new cast members.
The official television anime adaptation of See Morishita's original manga series, A Sign of Affection, will be known as The A Sign of Affection anime. Morishita's manga was first released in July 2019 in Kodansha's Dessert shojo manga magazine and continues to be regularly serialized there.

On Friday, October 20, 2021, the first promotional video for the A Sign of Affection anime was released, unveiling fresh cast members for the series. One notable addition is Ryota Ohsaka, widely recognized as the voice behind Demon Slayer's Gyutaro, who will be taking on the role of Kyoya Nagi.
Ohsaka will be joined by Takeo Otsuka as Oshio Ashioki and Kaedo Hondo as Rin Fujishiro. Otsuka is widely recognized for his role as Hyoma Kunato in Malevolent Spirits: Monogatari, while Hondo is best known for portraying Kirisame in Dr. Stone. They will be joining Sumire Morohoshi and Yu Miyazaki, who play the main characters Yuki Itose and Itsuomi Nagi, respectively.
Yuta Murano will oversee the storyboards and direct the anime at Ajia-do Studios. Yoko Yonaiyama will be in charge of the series scripts. Kasumi Sakai will design the characters for the series, while Yukari Hashimoto will compose the music. It is expected that additional cast and staff will be announced closer to the confirmed January 2024 release date.
