Former Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg, who confessed to lying during Donald Trump's civil fraud trial, has been sentenced to five months in jail for perjury.
Weisselberg faced five perjury charges, but reached a deal with prosecutors to plead guilty to two felony counts related to false testimony given during a deposition in 2020. He also acknowledged lying during the civil fraud trial, although this was not part of his guilty plea.
In the plea deal, prosecutors agreed to suggest a five-month jail term for Weisselberg.
Weisselberg gave false testimony about his awareness of the size of Trump's apartment triplex and how its value was inflated on Trump's financial statements due to incorrect square footage.
Weisselberg recently reached an agreement with prosecutors. He did not plead guilty to perjury in Trump's civil fraud trial over the triplex. It was agreed that he would not be sentenced for this conduct, which could violate his parole from his 2022 guilty plea.
This marks Weisselberg's second guilty plea. In 2022, he pleaded guilty to 15 counts of tax fraud and testified in the trial of two Trump Org. entities. He served approximately four months in prison.
