Swedish studio 10 Chambers unveiled a new game, Den of Wolves, during The Game Awards. The game, headed by Ulf Andersson, co-creator of the Payday series, explores familiar themes. Den of Wolves is a sci-fi heist game where players conduct "unauthorized errands" in Midway City, competing with rival corporations. 10 Chambers promises "futuristic, mind-bending heists."

"Experience dynamic and unpredictable moment-to-moment gameplay that will challenge you and your team to seamlessly adapt from stealth to full-on action shootouts (and back again) in thrilling scenarios," is an excerpt from the game's description.

As for the sci-fi setting, Andersson pointed out, "You can only rob so many banks," and added that the sci-fi element of Den of Wolves allows the studio to provide "more variety in heists."

"We highly appreciate the importance of worldbuilding in our work. Although Den of Wolves is not an open-world game, the extensive history and narrative we've developed around Midway City are paramount," stated Simon Viklund, the boss of 10 Chambers. "We aim for Midway to be a believable city of the near future where corporate power and late-stage capitalism reign. As a player, you will navigate the underground of Midway City with no official identity or documentation, forging alliances to thrive in the criminal underworld and its gig job black market."

As a hard fan of the Payday series, I am thrilled to hear about the upcoming sci-fi heist game Den of Wolves from former Payday developer Ulf Andersson. The concept of conducting "unauthorized errands" in a futuristic Midway City, competing with rival corporations, sounds incredibly exciting and promises a fresh take on the heist genre. The promise of "futuristic, mind-bending heists" has me eagerly anticipating the variety and creativity that the sci-fi setting will bring to the gameplay.

The emphasis on dynamic and unpredictable moment-to-moment gameplay, challenging players to seamlessly adapt from stealth to action shootouts, is exactly what I love about the Payday series. The ability to navigate the underground of Midway City with no official identity or documentation adds an intriguing layer of depth and immersion to the game world. I can't wait to explore the extensive history and narrative that 10 Chambers has developed around Midway City and forge alliances to thrive in the criminal underworld. Overall, Den of Wolves has all the makings of a thrilling and immersive sci-fi heist adventure, and I can't wait to get my hands on it.
