The actor Mike Colter, known for his role as Evil star, has hinted at the expanded presence of the enigmatic Vatican organization called the “Entity” in season 4. Initially introduced in Evil season 2, the “Entity” was disclosed as the Catholic Church’s secretive Secret Service group, primarily represented by the mysterious Victor LeConte (played by Brian d'Arcy James). After the ordination of Colter’s character Father David Acosta at the conclusion of season 2, he was later recruited by LeConte to work for the “Entity” in season 3. However, Acosta has faced increasing challenges due to the organization’s secretive and demanding nature.
During an interview with TVLine, Colter shared some potential hints about what to expect in Evil season 4. When asked about teasers for the upcoming season, Colter revealed that the “Entity” would continue to play a significant role and surprise Father Acosta with its sinister nature. Below are the actor’s comments:
"I think there are things that happen within the Entity, and specifically with David Acosta's role in the Entity, that end up being a bit more than he anticipated or even imagined. So yes, you get to see more of them, and you get to understand them a bit better. It's really interesting when you find out that there's this secret law enforcement agency within the Catholic Church, and you start to understand what their function is. But then you realize that that function can sometimes come with an abuse of power, and that can lead to nefarious things."
The Entity continues to exist but has transformed into a more ominous presence, separate from the Church. It constantly questions whether its intentions are benevolent and if they will ultimately benefit humanity. This evolution brings a sense of excitement, as the mundane routine of being a priest and conducting confessions on a weekly basis becomes rather dull.
Could The Entity Be Under Demonic Influence In Evil Season 4?
Since its introduction to the dark world of Evil, the "Entity" has been portrayed as morally ambiguous. Its main duty is to prevent demons from exerting influence on Earth by targeting humans who serve their interests. However, this covert organization, connected to the Vatican, has shown a willingness to use questionable methods to achieve its goals. In the ongoing battle between good and evil, the "Entity" justifies its problematic actions by claiming that the desired outcomes are worth the means employed.
Father David Acosta, played by Colter, has already faced difficulties due to the demands imposed by the "Entity". It seems that these challenges may intensify after the finale of Evil season 3. While Father Acosta's concerns about the organization stem from his own moral dilemmas, there is also the possibility that hidden sinister forces, possibly even demonic in nature, are at work behind the scenes.
Given the previous demonstration of Evil's ability to infiltrate the workings of the Catholic Church, it is not unfathomable that they may seek to undermine the group that opposes them. The hierarchy of the "Entity" remains largely unclear at this point, but the upcoming fourth season of Evil has the potential to unveil surprising revelations about its enigmatic leadership.
