Eva Mendes Turns Heads at Oscars with Strikingly Unique Dress Made from Skura Style's Sponge Collection

Only Eva Mendes can make a sponge sexy.

The actress, aged 49, shared a series of photos on her Instagram on Monday, July 31, showcasing her unique dress covered in sponges from her brand, Skura Style. The lime green garment featured an asymmetrical neckline as the blue, orange, and gray cleaning tools were scattered across her chest. Completing the look, she accessorized with gold earrings, pink nails, a silver ring, a metallic hairpiece, and neon sunglasses. For her makeup, Mendes opted for a matte face, sharp contour, rosy cheeks, hot pink lips, long lashes, and smokey eyeliner. Adding humor to the post, she quipped, "Is this what they mean when they say 'clean fashion?' Oscar look? Met Gala? Okay, maybe not great, but I'll post yours later today if you can do better! What do you have?!"

This wouldn't be Mendes' first time promoting her wellness label with style. In December 2022, the brand shared a video on Mendes' Instagram, where she elegantly demonstrated the product's capability by squeezing suds out of a sponge, allowing it to drip down her arm. Mendes' spouse of many years, Ryan Gosling, also endorsed the sponges while discussing his film, Barbie. Speaking to Capital FM in July, he praised the sponge, saying, "It's an incredible product. It alerts you when it needs to be replaced... as the logo fades."

Following this, Margot Robbie, Gosling's costar in Barbie, chimed in and said, "I came across this on Mendes' Instagram and thought it was brilliant." Gosling then playfully promised Robbie, who is 33 years old, that he would arrange for her to receive complimentary sponges.

Founded in 2018 by Linda Sawyer and Alison Matz, Skura Sponge recently announced their newest partner and co-owner, Mendes, who will also serve as the brand ambassador.
