While progressing through the main storyline of Starfield, players will gradually uncover the truth behind Earth's fate. This revelation will shed light on the current state of the planet, reduced to a vast expanse of sand, devoid of man-made structures and visible signs of life.
Despite this desolation, players still have the opportunity to explore a few recognizable Earth landmarks within Starfield. One such landmark is the iconic Empire State Building located in New York. However, gaining access to the coordinates of this renowned structure requires some effort on the part of players, as they must discover a special item that allows them to precisely pinpoint the location of the Big Apple on their in-game map.
How to Visit the Empire State Building in Starfield (New York Landmark)
As is the case with The Shard and The Pyramids, players in Starfield must discover the precise location of The Empire State Building. However, rather than simply purchasing a book, they must embark on a daring mission to steal it from the MAST building in New Atlantis. The book they seek, Our Lost Heritage, can be found on President Abello's desk on one of the upper floors.
To access the President's office, players should board the NAT to the MAST District in the city and proceed to the left to locate the elevator. Upon arriving, they should activate the panel and select the third option from the top, labeled "Central Command / Office of the President / System Defence". After exiting the elevator, players should take a right turn, which will guide them to the President's office. Our Lost Heritage is situated on the right side of the President's desk.
After acquiring the book, "Visit the New York Landmark on Earth," it will automatically be included in the player's list of activities. Consequently, the New York Landing Site will be marked on the player's map of Earth. Once this step is completed, players are advised to exit the building. This will grant them the freedom to utilize the fast travel feature and journey to the SOL system. Amongst the prevalent debris and sand, players will be able to explore the remnants of the once majestic Empire State Building.
The Empire State Building in Starfield isn't in the best condition, just like the planet it is on. However, it still offers a beautiful photo opportunity for players who like using Starfield's Photo Mode. Additionally, if players explore the right side of the building, they can discover the New York snow globe placed on a rock. Starfield is currently accessible for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
