Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, recently revealed his ambitions for the live-action version of the popular animanga series at Jump Festa 2024. Despite dominating the industry for years, fans initially doubted the decision to adapt One Piece into a live-action series, given Netflix's track record.
Thankfully, the show defied the curse and paved the way for future projects. The eight-episode series gained massive success with high viewership, ranking among the top Netflix TV shows for three weeks after its release. At the recent Jump Festa event, big news for anime fans was revealed, including a special message from the creator of One Piece during the showcase.

During the One Piece stage at Jump Festa 2024, fans were excited to hear about Netflix's One Piece remake by WIT studio. But there was more in store for them: a special message from the acclaimed mangaka Eiichiro Oda.
"I dream of a Japanese manga winning an Emmy or Academy Award someday!" he expressed.
He expressed his thanks to the entire production team of the One-Piece live-action, as well as the talented actors who brought the animated characters to life. In particular, he extended his gratitude to Iñaki Godoy (Luffy) and Jacob Romero (Usopp) for their outstanding performances. He also admitted to being so impressed by the actors who portrayed Luffy, Nami, Zoro, Usopp, and Sanji that he hopes to see them become Hollywood stars.
