Ahead of its Friday debut, DreamWorks All-Star Kart Racing received a new launch trailer. Showcasing various tracks such as Shrek's Swamp, Dragon's Keep, Dark Forest, and San Ricardo, the 90-second video provides a glimpse into the game. Additionally, it offers a sneak peek at playable characters like Shrek, Po, and Theodore Templeton. In terms of representation, the Shrek series, along with its Puss in Boots spin-off, dominates DreamWorks All-Star Kart Racing with almost one-third of its 22 drivers. Following closely behind is Kung Fu Panda with four racers, while the remaining DreamWorks franchises in the game feature one or two characters each.
DreamWorks All-Star Kart Racing Characters
Besides the 20 drivers in the base game, the Rally Pack DLC for DreamWorks All-Star Kart Racing introduces two exclusive characters: Grand Master Oogway from Kung Fu Panda and Wolf (Death) from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, which received an Oscar nomination. Both Oogway and Wolf come with their own unique karts, just like the other characters in the game. Moreover, players will have the ability to customize the kart chassis, similar to the vehicle customization featured in the Mario Kart series.

The game's selection of drivers doesn't include many characters from Trolls. However, the beloved main cast of the popular franchise plays a role in DreamWorks All-Star Kart Racing as race announcers. Additionally, players will have the opportunity to pick up troll hitchhikers during races, who act as power-bestowing items similar to those in Mario Kart.
The base version of DreamWorks All-Star Kart Racing will be priced at $39.99, with the Rally Edition costing $10 more. The Rally Pack, included in the latter, will also be available for separate purchase. This game will have a physical release for the Switch and the last two generations of PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
