Chapter 9 of Street Fighter 6's World Tour Mode picks up the pace with three challenging fight sequences following a few story-heavy sections. Even seasoned players may struggle with one of these fights, making it a true test of skill. In addition, players can take a breather and tackle new side missions, some of which can unlock more optional World Tour mode Masters. Despite these diversions, completing Chapter 9 should still take around thirty minutes.
Chapter 9 - 1: Nascent Nayshall Walkthrough
After conversing with Guile, players can return to Metro City by speaking with Curtis. Upon doing so, they will receive a series of text messages from one of Chun-Li's students, who appears to be using Li-Fen's phone. This will prompt the player's active mission to switch to "White Hat Down," requiring them to revisit "Nascent Nayschell" at a later time. Fortunately, completing this mission will prove to be a breeze once they do return.
Chapter 9 - 2: White Hat Down Walkthrough
In order to progress through "White Hat Down," players must venture to Chinatown during the daytime and speak with Lao Tang. It will be revealed that Li-Fen has gone missing and it is suggested that players track down Bao Bao Bro from Chapter 7. Located in Beat Square during nighttime hours, players will need to initiate a fight by using a Master Action. This can be achieved by holding R2 (PlayStation) or RT (Xbox) and then pressing one of the assigned face buttons while within range.
As Bao Bao Bro reaches Level 30, players need to be cautious as he can cause some trouble. However, with a strong defense and certain consumable items, players can overcome his challenges. During the encounter, Bao Bao Bro unveils that he spotted Li-Fen at Abigail's Scrap Metal, the spot where players can earn money by playing the Scrap Heap minigame. Additionally, he hands over his costume which enables players to move around the area without alerting the Mad Gear Gang.
As they attempt to make their escape, the players are confronted by a group of gang members. To stand a chance against them, they will have to team up with Li-Fen. However, their victory will be short-lived as Li-Fen disappears, leaving them to face Thrasher Damnd and his army of Mad Gear Gang members alone. The fight is made even more challenging by the crane above, which intermittently drops projectiles on unsuspecting players.
Fighting Thrasher can prove to be a daunting task due to his immense strength. However, players can take solace in the fact that he only brings one minion along with him. This means they can avoid being surrounded, but they must still be prepared to dodge or block Thrasher's projectiles. Additionally, healing items should be kept handy as Thrasher's heavy attacks can significantly diminish the player's health. Therefore, players must remain vigilant throughout the fight and be quick to react to any potential threats.
After defeating Thrasher and successfully navigating the scrapyard, Li-Fen will send a reassuring message confirming her safety and requesting the player's presence during daylight hours. Accepting her invitation will bring the mission to a close, prompting Asterisk to contact the player and advise them to seek out a resistance leader called Kalima in Nayshall. From here, players can access the World Map and make their way to Old Nayshall, effectively concluding both the "Nascent Nayshall" mission and Chapter 9 of World Tour Mode in a rather sudden fashion.
Optional Master: Zangief
Upon completing the "Hither and Thither" side quest in Chapter 9, players will have the opportunity to become Zangief's student. To trigger the quest, players must speak with Uou, an NPC located outside the Mike Haggar Memorial Stadium in the Urban Park area of Metro City, but only during nighttime hours.
To gain access to the Barmaley Steelworks in Russia and encounter Zangief, one of the 18 World Tour mode Masters in Street Fighter 6, players must first complete a quest. This involves traveling back and forth between Uou and a nearby NPC named Saou before ultimately defeating Uou in a one-on-one fight.
Optional Master: Dhalsim
To become proficient in Dhalsim's techniques, players must undertake a side quest called "The Yoga Statue". This quest can be initiated during the day by speaking to Anik, an NPC located in the Bayside Park area of Metro City, south of Beat Square. Anik will sell the Yoga Statue to the player for 7,000 Zenny, which is a small price to pay for the valuable training that awaits.
To unlock the Dhalsimer Temple location on the World Map screen, players must first return to the Hangout and change the time of day to nighttime. Afterward, they need to visit Anik in Bayside Park, whose attitude has undergone a change since their last interaction. However, players will have to teach him a lesson before he grants them access to the temple. Once unlocked, players can visit the temple at their convenience and become Dhalsim's students.
Street Fighter 6 is available now on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
