What We Know About Doctor Who Season 14

'The Church on Ruby Sunday' concluded with Ruby entering the TARDIS for the first time after the Doctor rescued her from the Goblins in the past. As such, it can be expected that Doctor Who season 14 may pick up directly after the events of the seasonal special, jumping straight into the pair's adventures. This isn't unprecedented for Doctor Who, as David Tennant's first Tenth Doctor adventure 'The Christmas Invasion' led directly into season 2's opening episode, 'New Earth'.

The Doctor and Ruby will not be alone in their travels, however, as Davies has gathered an all-star cast for Doctor Who season 14. Alongside newcomers Aneurin Barnard and Lenny Rush, Frozen's Jonathan Groff and Obi-Wan Kenobi's Indira Varma have also joined the series in currently undisclosed roles in the Regency era adventure, while two-time Ru Paul's Drag Race Winner Jinkx Monsoon is set to star in Gatwa's Beatles adventures as a powerful new villain. UNIT is also set to return to aid the Doctor in their adventures, once more led by Jemma Redgrave's Kate Stewart and Alexander Devrient's Colonel Ibrahim, while Bonnie Langford's classic former companion Mel Bush will also work alongside Gatwa's Doctor.

Even though Gatwa only made his debut in the final moments of Doctor Who's 60th Anniversary specials, excitement for the actor's first season has been building ever since filming began in December 2022. As such, the first glimpse at the Fifteenth Doctor and Ruby's new adventures has helped create even more excitement for season 14. With only five months to go until Gatwa's new adventures begin, this latest trailer is sure to leave fans speculating when and where the Doctor will find themselves next.
