Dixie D’Amelio quashed all rumors suggesting that she had undergone a breast augmentation surgery, responding in a relatable manner. In a recent comment on her Instagram post featuring her Queen of Hearts Halloween costume, the popular The D’Amelio Show star explained, "The reality is that I was menstruating, and that's the reason behind it."
D'Amelio's unfiltered response in her TikTok garnered praise from several fans in the comments. One user expressed admiration by saying, "You don't need to justify yourself, you're killing it." D'Amelio humorously dismissed the plastic surgery rumors by stating, "They are hilarious."
In response to a comment about breast swelling during the menstrual cycle, D'Amelio clarified that not everyone experiences it, saying, "It varies for each person. Everyone is unique."
The TV personality fearlessly opens up to her fans, as she disclosed in an Instagram Live session in October 2022 that she had received a diagnosis of Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD).
"I was not feeling well and couldn't pinpoint the reason. Recently, I was diagnosed with PMDD, also known as premenstrual dysphoric disorder," she shared during the live stream. "This condition significantly impacts moods, behavior, and various aspects of life."
D’Amelio further discussed her "severe" PMDD symptoms in The D’Amelio Show's season 3 premiere. In the September 20 episode, she revealed experiencing extreme anxiety, depression, loss of motivation to live, as well as heightened irritability and anger. She expressed her hope for understanding from those around her.

Her symptoms of PMDD involve experiencing severe PMS symptoms before her menstrual cycle. In a confessional, D'Amelio expressed her surprise, stating that she did not realize it was not normal to feel suicidal every month before getting her period. Prior to the season 3 premiere of the show, D'Amelio revealed in an exclusive interview with We that her PMDD occasionally leads her to a deeply negative mental state.
"It's an ongoing struggle that I don't think I'll ever fully master, but I'm making progress," she expressed. "Having conversations with my parents, like last night when I spoke to my dad, Marc D'Amelio, helps. I've come to realize that he doesn't need to fix everything, but simply being there for me is enough, and the same goes for my mom, Heidi D'Amelio."
Apart from that, Dixie has bravely shared her experience of being diagnosed with Psychogenic Nonepileptic Seizures, a condition that manifests physical symptoms of anxiety, during her high school years. She vividly remembers having her first seizure since 2017 while filming her family's Hulu series.
"I sensed a heaviness in my chest, as if something was amiss with my body," she revealed during the October 18th episode of the show. "It felt like I was experiencing a shutdown." Upon witnessing this, the show's crew immediately dialed for an ambulance. The seizure occurred just hours before the family was scheduled to host a launch event for the D’Amelio Footwear line.
"This shoe launch holds immense significance. We have been working towards this for six months, and it's truly a momentous occasion," Dixie expressed in a confessional. "There's nothing that could possibly prevent me from attending this party. Even if I were out on the road, incapacitated and thrashing about, I would still be there."
