DreamSnaps is a fresh, community-driven addition that comes with the Disney Dreamlight Valley summer update. This exciting feature is accompanied by the introduction of a new character, Vanellope from Wreck-It Ralph, and unveils a unique aspect when capturing in-game photos with the player's Phone tool. Every week, participants will be presented with a fresh, themed challenge to showcase their photography prowess.

How to Unlock DreamSnaps in DDV

To access the DreamSnaps feature, players need to complete the quest called "The Haunting of Dreamlight Valley" given by Scrooge McDuck. This quest becomes available to players who have reached Character Level 5 and have finished the introductory quests from Merlin, starting with "Welcome to Dreamlight Valley." At the beginning of the game, players are equipped with the Phone (including Photo Mode) which is the only tool needed to take part in DreamSnaps Challenges.

To successfully finish "The Haunting of Dreamlight Valley," pay a visit to Scrooge McDuck in his store. He informs you about witnessing something enigmatic at the Dream Castle and urges you to investigate further by heading to the top floor of the castle. There, you will cross paths with Vanellope and can complete the mission, which will unlock the DreamSnaps feature. It is essential to then accomplish Vanellope's subsequent quest, "Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust," as it aims to educate you on utilizing the DreamSnaps feature. Completing this quest will grant you the ability to have Vanellope as a resident of Dreamlight Valley.

How to View DreamSnaps Weekly Challenges

The objective of the DreamSnaps feature within Disney Dreamlight Valley is to capture photos that fulfill the criteria of various weekly themes and submit them to earn rewards such as Pixel Dust, clothing, furniture, and Moonstones - the game's premium currency. Every challenge presents a distinct theme, which is outlined briefly in the DreamSnaps event menu.

Please refer to the DreamSnaps Event menu to review the complete challenge requirements. You can access this menu through the game's main menu and it also displays the details of Star Path. The menu shows the specific attributes and quantities needed, while the description informs the player about the qualifying item types. For instance, an "Outfit Challenge" requires the player to equip clothing items that meet the challenge criteria.

In addition, the DreamSnaps Event menu presents a list of suggested criteria, which allows for the inclusion of bonus point-earning objects in the weekly challenge. By earning more points, players can increase their rewards and possibly improve their chances of being voted into the top five photos, leading to the acquisition of extra rewards. However, only the attributes listed in the "Mandatory" category are required for submissions.

How to Activate DreamSnaps in Photo Mode

DreamSnaps view is a unique game function that can be accessed exclusively in Photo Mode, but only after capturing a photo. Prior to accessing any information about DreamSnaps, players must initially take a photo. In order to enter Photo Mode and utilize the DreamSnaps feature, players should follow these steps:

Select the Camera and Enter Photo Mode

DreamSnaps can be captured in Dreamlight Valley by using the Camera feature on the player's Phone while in Photo Mode. To enter Photo Mode, players can either access the Phone from the tool wheel or use the platform-specific hotkey designated for this purpose. In Dreamlight Valley, players can open the tool menu and utilize the following hotkeys:

Once in Photo Mode, players can access a comprehensive display of all the available features, functions, and their corresponding hotkeys in the bottom left corner of the screen. Prior to engaging in DreamSnaps, players must initially Capture a Photo by utilizing the designated hotkey.

How to Capture and Submit a DreamSnaps Photo

Once the player has Captured a Photo, they can enter DreamSnaps view (“Show DreamSnaps”) by using the following hotkeys:

By opening the DreamSnaps view mode, players will be able to see the weekly DreamSnaps Challenge criteria displayed in the photo's capture area. It is important to note that this text will not be visible on the final photo; its purpose is solely to enable players to verify that their photo meets all the required attributes for submission. If the photo does not include the correct quantity of each attribute, it will not be eligible for submission.

A qualifying photo can be submitted to the DreamSnaps Challenge via the hotkey that is displayed in the requirements box while in DreamSnaps view. If the option is not visible, players must use the respective hotkey to toggle the DreamSnaps view and make it appear. Once in this view mode, they can go ahead and submit a photo.

How to Find Items That Meet DreamSnaps Challenge Requirements

The requirements for each DreamSnaps Challenge can be found in the Event Menu under "DreamSnaps" in the "Current Challenge" section. While in Photo Mode, you can also view the criteria by accessing the DreamSnaps view. However, please note that the suggested criteria will not be included in this list.

Every item in the Furniture and Clothing menus of Disney Dreamlight Valley has specific attributes based on its design and theme. These attributes can be seen when an item is being sold in Scrooge's Store. However, if the player wants to view the attributes of an item they have already obtained, they must first apply a filter for the selected attribute in either the Furniture or Clothing menu. This will show all the items that meet the selected filters, but the attributes of individual items will not be displayed.

How to Filter Furniture by Attributes

To effectively sort and categorize Furniture based on their attributes, players can begin by accessing the Furniture menu and choosing a specific category. As soon as the list of items within the selected category is displayed, a convenient "Filter" button will promptly appear in the top right corner for seamless refinement.

By clicking the button, players can access a list of available filter categories, currently including Color, Universe, Trait, Furniture Zones, and Style. Depending on their desired criteria, it may be simpler to select the "All" category and apply filters within it.

To return to the Furniture View, players can create a filter using any of these attributes and then click the back arrow located at the top left corner. A list of Active Filters will be displayed, showing all items that meet any of the selected attributes. In order for furniture to qualify for submission, it must match the weekly theme and be included in the DreamSnaps photo.

How to Filter Clothing by Attributes

To filter Clothing, players should follow the same method as with Furniture, but they should choose the Clothing tab within the Furniture menu. Clothing can be filtered by Color, Universe, Trait, and Style. It is recommended to select the "All" category before applying any filters for easier navigation.

However, it is important to note that in order to qualify, the player must be wearing the necessary clothing pieces. The requirements are slightly less strict for clothing photos as not all qualifying items need to be visible in the photo. It is sufficient for the items to be equipped on the player, even if they may not be visible in a headshot.

How to Submit Photos to DreamSnaps Weekly Challenge

After selecting the appropriate number of objects for the DreamSnaps weekly challenge, players should creatively arrange and display them to fit the theme. All required objects must be visible in the submitted photo, and players are free to use any Image Format or Camera mode of their choice.

It is important to remember that any customized items created using the game's Touch of Magic feature cannot be included in photos submitted for DreamSnaps weekly challenges. The Touch of Magic feature allows players to customize furniture and clothing by changing colors, textures, and applying motifs. If any customized items are visible in a photo, the submission will be rejected and players will need to make changes before taking a new photo.

After capturing the ideal picture, as soon as the player switches to DreamSnaps view, a notification will pop up indicating the fulfillment of the requirements. Moreover, players will be provided with a choice to submit their DreamSnaps to the weekly challenge by utilizing the designated hotkey disclosed.

Players are allowed to submit only one DreamSnaps photo for each weekly challenge, with the option to replace their submission by following the same process. It is worth noting that any new submissions will overwrite previous ones, so players are advised to capture and save their favorite shots on their platform. To check their active submission, players can visit the Event tab, access the "Current Challenge" menu, and click on the "Check Submission" button located at the bottom left of the screen.

DreamSnaps Event Schedule - Challenge Starts, Voting, Rewards Earned

A new DreamSnaps Challenge event will be held every week in Disney Dreamlight Valley, following a consistent schedule of activities. Each week will bring a different challenge, with voting starting for the previous week's challenge and players receiving rewards for their already-voted-on submissions.

All participants in a DreamSnaps Challenge will receive rewards, and those whose photos perform the best (receiving the most votes) will receive extra rewards, including a generous number of Moonstones.

Players who have participated in Week 1’s DreamSnaps Challenge will receive their rewards via in-game mail.
