Players in Disney Dreamlight Valley were left disappointed when the long-awaited free Walt & Mickey Partners Statue was not delivered as promised. Now, they are eagerly anticipating its release for the game's upcoming 1-year anniversary.
The Premium Shop regularly introduces new items, giving priority to those that can generate profit from the sale of Moonstones. However, fans have voiced their dissatisfaction with the game's monetization due to the high prices of Moonstones, Dream Bundles, and Premium Shop items.
Disney Dreamlight Valley players were promised a complimentary Walt & Mickey Partners Statue nearly a year ago. However, the item has been overlooked and still remains undelivered. Disney Dreamlight Valley is a life simulation game that enables players to immerse themselves in the world of beloved Disney and Pixar characters. They can cultivate meaningful relationships, engage in farming and fishing activities, prepare a diverse array of meals, and unleash their creativity by embellishing their valleys and homes.
In terms of furnishings, players have the option to craft their own, design fully personalized items using the upgraded Touch of Magic tool, purchase them from Scrooge's Store and the Premium Shop, or receive them as rewards for completing the Star Path and specific challenges. The Premium Shop offers the most intricate furniture items, albeit at a considerable cost of Moonstones. Consequently, players were particularly thrilled when they discovered that they would be bestowed with the Walt & Mickey Partners Statue for free upon successfully achieving a community challenge in 2022.
Players were given multiple milestones to complete as part of community challenges, each offering a free reward upon completion. The Walt & Mickey Partners Statue challenge would only be given out once Disney Dreamlight Valley reached 35,000 followers on Instagram or Twitter. In August 2022, fans successfully reached this goal, and while Disney Dreamlight Valley acknowledged the achievement in October and promised players that they would receive the item as soon as it was completed, it never materialized. Some players have accepted that they may never receive this item in their in-game mailbox, but others remain hopeful that it will be gifted to the community in September when the game celebrates its first anniversary.
It is certainly unusual that this promised item has not been awarded to players. Their disappointment is heightened by the fact that the game continues to introduce new items and release them in the Premium Shop.
The inclusion of premium shop items is crucial as it encourages players to buy Moonstones, whereas free items do not generate any profit. This is not the initial or subsequent instance where fans have expressed dissatisfaction with Disney Dreamlight Valley's monetization strategy. The prices of Moonstones remain extremely steep, as with the Dream Bundles and premium shop items.
