How to approach each critter and what to feed them
Feeding Critters in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Squirrels
Disney Dreamlight Valley offers a multitude of opportunities to form friendships with classic Disney and Pixar characters. However, alongside these beloved characters, there are various other creatures vying for your attention - particularly when it comes to food. Spread throughout each of the game's biomes are critters that eagerly await your offerings, with the promise of rewarding you with cosmetic items and Dream Shards in return. Each critter has its own unique behavior and favorite food, which yields different rewards. Here's a comprehensive guide to helping you navigate this aspect of the game.
How to approach each critter and what to feed them
Squirrels
Squirrels inhabit the Plaza. Unlike some animals in later biomes, these little critters will generally approach you and patiently wait to be fed when they're hungry.
Favorite Food: Peanuts
Rabbits
Rabbits inhabit the Peaceful Meadow and display interest in food by darting away and bouncing in a playful manner. By following them and observing their repeated behavior, they will eventually allow you to feed them after the fourth stop.
Favorite Food: Carrots
Sea Turtles
Sea Turtles are often spotted at Dazzle Beach. When they are hungry, you can cautiously approach them and they may retreat into their shells. Wait patiently and they will soon reemerge, ready for you to offer them a snack.
Favorite Food: Seaweed
Raccoons
Raccoons can be discovered in the Forest of Valor. These creatures are agile and difficult to keep pace with, but when they're hungry, they will perch in one spot and gaze at you from a distance. This is your chance to approach them quietly and slowly, advancing only when they appear at ease. If they lift their head and look around warily, they will scamper away once more. Eventually, you will be able to get close enough to receive the option to feed the little rascals.
Crocodiles
Favorite Food: Blueberries
Crocodiles are found in the Glade of Trust. They scurry around quite a lot, but like Raccoons, they'll stop and watch you from afar when they're hungry. When you see them standing still and glancing around cautiously, that's your cue. Move slowly towards them when their heads are down, then stop as soon as they begin to look around again. Eventually, they'll plop on the ground and await some chow.
Favorite Food: Lobster
Sunbirds
Sunbirds are commonly sighted in Sunlit Plateau. Their rapid flitting around the area may require some agility to keep up with them, but no special approach is necessary as long as you can match their pace.
Favorite Food: Every color variation of sunbird has its own unique favorite food. See below.
Emerald Sunbird - Green Passion Lily
Golden Sunbird - Sunflower
Orchid Sunbird - Pink Bromeliad
Red Sunbird - Red Bromeliad
Turquoise Sunbird - Pink Houseleek
Foxes
Foxes can be spotted in Frosted Heights. They tend to be quite social when they are looking for food, and will approach you and bark to get your attention. If you follow them around long enough, they will eventually allow you to feed them.
Favorite Food: White Sturgeon
Ravens
Ravens inhabit the Forgotten Lands and can be easily seen flying around and going about their own business. They are not difficult to attract, as you can slowly approach them and wait for them to circle around and examine you before landing and allowing you to feed them a five-star meal.
Favorite Food: Any five-star meal
Monkeys
Monkeys can be located in Ancient's Landing. These little creatures enjoy being pursued like rabbits and have selective eating habits. After spending some time following them, they will eventually accept food from you.
Preferred food: Any five-star meal
Cobras
Cobras inhabit the Glittering Dunes. Similar to Racoons and Crocodiles, these slippery creatures require a slow and cautious approach when their attention is not focused on their surroundings. With perseverance, however, they can be coaxed into accepting food.
Favorite Food: Scorpions
Capybaras
Capybaras can be found in Wild Tangle. These relaxed creatures are low-maintenance and can be approached and fed at any time. It's a breeze!
Favorite Food: Bamboo
