Players participating in the Pokemon GO Team Rocket Takeover event are becoming frustrated with the elusive nature of the Shadow Gible. Gible is a highly sought-after Pokemon due to its evolution into the formidable Garchomp, a dual Dragon/Ground type that offers a competitive advantage in the mainline Pokemon games. Typically, finding Gible is not a challenging task.
The Team Rocket Takeover event in Pokemon GO introduces a variety of new Shadow Pokemon that can be encountered while battling against Rocket Grunts. This event began on June 21, 2023, and will conclude on June 25 at 11:59 p.m. As time is running out, players must swiftly complete all the Special Research tasks.
In the latest Pokemon GO event, a Reddit user named buddy341 shared their disappointing experience of trying to capture a Shadow Gible. Despite encountering approximately 250 Team GO Rocket Grunts, the user was unable to find a single Shadow Gible. However, some other users had better luck. One of the top comments mentioned encountering four Dragon Grunts during their daily 10-kilometer walk, three of which had Shadow Gibles. Surprisingly, the chances of encountering a Dragon Grunt, according to a website shared by another commenter, is less than 1%.
It is hoped that Shadow Gible will remain as a Shadow Pokemon for some time, giving more players a chance to catch it. However, it seems that players are more likely to encounter it by chance rather than through grinding. Interestingly, Gible appears to be the more common Pokemon held by Dragon Grunts, at least in the areas where lucky players have encountered them. There is a 5% chance that the Grunt will be holding an Alolan Exeggutor instead. Some players may have had better luck with the Pokemon GO Solstice Horizons event, which focuses on collecting themed Pokemon, with Fomantis being a notable choice.
As the Team Rocket Takeover event comes to an end, some Pokemon GO players may feel let down, while others see it as a matter of chance. With its widespread popularity, it's only a matter of time before the next Gible event takes place, captivating fans worldwide. In fact, one imaginative fan has even designed a unique version of Gible called Garswamp, featuring the extremely rare Ground/Poison typing in its final evolution.
Pokemon GO can be enjoyed on both Android and iOS platforms.
