The anime industry has been deeply impacted by the loss of Satoru Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen. Many devoted fans are still hopeful for his eventual return, despite the severe injury he suffered. As fans mourn his absence, some have been searching for a new character in other manga and anime series who embodies the same qualities as Gojo. Although similarities between characters are common, fans believe they have found the "next Gojo."
Fans compare Kei Uzuki from Sakamoto Days to Jujutsu Kaisen's Satoru Gojo
Satoru Gojo is undeniably the most beloved character in the Jujutsu Kaisen series. Fans were stunned by his death in the manga, as they had hoped for his triumph against Sukuna.
The affection for Gojo among Jujutsu Kaisen fans stemmed from his comforting and cheerful demeanor. Additionally, his self-assuredness and comedic antics led to numerous unforgettable scenes.
Kei Uzuki, a primary antagonist in the popular Sakamoto Days manga, is known for being a ruthless killer responsible for wiping out a significant portion of Japan's assassin industry. In one particularly heinous act, he even went as far as to threaten Taro Sakamoto's daughter in order to force Sakamoto into a fight. This revealed the extreme lengths to which he was willing to go to make the (former) World's Best Assassin face him.
The contrast between Kei Uzuki from Sakamoto Days and Satoru Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen couldn't be more pronounced. Uzuki exudes a cold and unyielding attitude, while Gojo radiates warmth and compassion.
Uzuki and Gojo share a strong resemblance in their appearances, both being white-haired, blue-eyed, and exceptionally strong characters in their respective series. This similarity has led some fans to compare the two, with some even declaring Uzuki as the 'next' Gojo. However, many fans have highlighted that apart from their appearance, the two characters are vastly different in terms of their goals, personalities, and attitudes.
Fans react to the comparison between Satoru Gojo and Kei Uzuki

The comparison between Uzuki and Gojo was met with widespread backlash from fans, who pointed out that Uzuki's actions were in stark contrast to Gojo's. While Gojo went out of his way to help students and defy the higher-ups in the Jujutsu society, Uzuki was known to harm people's families to further his own agenda. The vast difference in their motivations, morals, and objectives makes it pointless to compare the two characters.
Editor's P/S
As a Gen Z fan of Jujutsu Kaisen, I was deeply saddened by the loss of Satoru Gojo. His death left a void in the series that no other character has been able to fill. While I understand the desire to find a new character who can embody some of Gojo's qualities, I believe that Kei Uzuki from Sakamoto Days is not a suitable replacement.
Uzuki and Gojo may share some physical similarities, but their personalities and motivations are vastly different. Gojo was a kind and compassionate mentor who always put the well-being of his students first. Uzuki, on the other hand, is a ruthless killer who is willing to harm innocent people to achieve his goals. I find it disrespectful to Gojo's memory to compare him to such a despicable character.
