Players will have the opportunity to take on the role of the beloved character Simon "Ghost" Riley in the final mission of Modern Warfare 3's Open Combat Area. Their mission will involve locating and disarming four chemical bombs that have been scattered throughout the area. Although the general vicinity of each bomb is indicated on the player's tac-map, they will need to thoroughly search each location to discover the exact hiding spot of the bomb and successfully defuse it. All of this must be done while evading or engaging with enemy Konni soldiers.
Furthermore, successfully defusing the bomb that is being transported on a truck within the designated time frame and without arousing suspicion can earn players the Hitchhiker achievement or trophy.
Bomb Locations
The bomb's initial placement is in C-4, close to Ghost's BASE jump spot. Make your way to the bunker in C-4 and proceed towards the rear chamber to locate the bomb. Exercise caution as you navigate the bunker, as claymore mines have been strategically placed, in addition to the presence of heavily armored Konni soldiers. Upon successfully clearing the bunker, interact with the bomb to safely defuse it.
The second explosive device can be found in D-6, positioned on the catwalk beneath the dam. Approach the catwalk from the west side, using the staircase in C-6 to descend towards the area. A sentry turret is stationed on this platform, protecting the catwalk. Sneak up behind the turret and employ the interact button to hack and deactivate it. Proceed onto the catwalk and locate the second alcove on your left side to discover the bomb. Safely dismantle the bomb to neutralize it.
The bomb is concealed in F-5 beneath the main bridge, submerged underwater. To enhance visibility during the swim through the pipes under the bridge, it is crucial to dive as deep as possible. By doing so, players will easily locate the bomb.
At the beginning of the mission, the final bomb is located on the back of a truck in transit. Players have two options: intercept the truck's path and attempt to defuse the bomb without alerting nearby forces (note that if enemies spot you off the truck, it will stop and the enemies inside will exit the truck to attack) or wait for the truck to reach its final destination at the G-2 grid point near the weapon supply crate. Achieving a stealthy approach, players can silently get on the truck and defuse the bomb without being detected, ultimately earning a trophy on PlayStation or an achievement on PC or Xbox.
How to Get the Hitchhiker Achievement/Trophy

To complete the trophy objective for the Gora Dam mission, players should prioritize tackling the truck bomb first. The truck will only be in motion for a short time at the beginning of the mission, after which it will park permanently. Failing to defuse the bomb before this happens will result in the inability to achieve the trophy without starting the mission over.
To accomplish this, players should begin by BASE jumping and heading towards the right. They should search for the winding road located just past the compound with the bunker in C-4. The goal is to land either on the truck or just behind it before it reaches the compound. This will provide enough time to successfully hack and defuse the bomb before any enemies become aware. It is crucial for players to ensure a seamless landing if they choose to land directly on the truck. Cutting the chute and descending too quickly will generate enough noise to alert the Konni soldiers in the truck, causing them to come to an immediate stop.
By landing properly and discreetly defusing the bomb before being detected, players will successfully complete the Hitchhiker achievement or trophy.
